Terms of Service

1. The service

PlotFact is a property research service available at plotfact.com, operated by Dacfact LLC ("we", "our", or "us"). PlotFact is the name of the service; Dacfact LLC is the company that owns and operates it, and is the party you contract with under these Terms.

PlotFact provides property research reports and daily change feeds compiled from public county records in North Carolina (currently Wake, Durham, Orange, and Johnston counties). The service surfaces public information about properties — ownership of record, assessed values, tax status, sales, permits, code cases, flood zones — along with derived signals and estimates built from that information.

2. Data disclaimer

All data is sourced from public records and third-party government systems and is provided "as is", without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. County systems contain errors, lag behind real-world events, and change without notice. PlotFact is not a substitute for a title search, appraisal, survey, or legal advice. You must independently verify all information with official county sources before making any offer, purchase, or legal decision. Estimates shown in the service — including ARV, the motivated-seller score, and estimated equity — are informational models only, not statements of fact or value.

3. Not professional advice

Nothing in the service constitutes legal, financial, tax, or brokerage advice. No broker-client, agency, or advisory relationship is created by your use of PlotFact.

4. Accounts

You are responsible for your account credentials and all activity under your account. One account per person. We may suspend or terminate accounts for abuse, automated scraping, or resale of data.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans bill monthly via Stripe. You can cancel anytime using Manage subscription on your Account page; cancellation stops future billing and your access continues through the end of the paid period. Refund policy: monthly fees are non-refundable once a billing period starts, except where required by law. If you believe you were billed in error, contact support@plotfact.com and we will make it right.

6. Referrals

If you sign up through someone's referral link or code, we credit that person and they may earn a commission. Being referred never increases what you pay. What they can see about you is covered in our Privacy Policy. Taking part as a referral partner is separate and governed by its own written agreement — nothing on this page creates one or entitles anyone to a commission.

7. Acceptable use

You may not scrape the service with automated tools, bulk-harvest data, or redistribute or resell the data. You may not use the data to harass property owners. In any outreach based on the data, you must comply with applicable laws, including do-not-call and fair-housing laws.

8. Ownership

The PlotFact service — the software, the interface, the compiled database, and the derived signals and estimates it produces, including the motivated-seller score, ARV ranges, and estimated equity — is owned by Dacfact LLC and protected by copyright and other applicable law. "PlotFact" is a product name and mark owned by Dacfact LLC.

The underlying public records are not owned by anyone; they belong to the public and you are free to obtain them from the counties yourself. What Dacfact LLC owns is the selection, compilation, daily change history, and derived analysis built on top of them. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable right to use the service; it does not transfer ownership of any of it.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total liability of Dacfact LLC arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid in the prior three months. Dacfact LLC is not liable for decisions you make based on the data.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina.
