Privacy Policy

1. What we collect
Account information: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google. Subscription status via Stripe — we never store card numbers; Stripe processes all payments. Usage data: lookups consumed, saved properties, watchlists, and alerts. Standard server logs (IP address, request timing) are kept for security and operations. If you signed up through a referral link or code, we also record who referred you.
2. Property data
The property records displayed in the service are public records about properties and their owners of record, sourced from county government systems. This is not data you provide to us, and it is governed by the counties' public-records rules.
3. How we use your information
To provide the service, enforce plan limits, process payments, and send transactional email such as password resets and billing notices. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use third-party advertising.
4. Browser storage
We do not use cookies or third-party trackers. We do store a small amount of data in your browser's local storage: your theme preference, your signed-in state, and — if you arrived through a referral link — the referral code, so the person who referred you is credited when you create an account. That code is used only within 90 days of your click, and is deleted from your browser once it expires. It is used only to credit your referrer; we do not share it with third parties.
5. Third parties
We rely on Firebase/Google (authentication and database), Stripe (payments), and Google Cloud (hosting). Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.
6. If someone referred you
If you signed up through a referral link or code, we record who referred you so they can be credited. By default they see only that a signup happened — nothing that identifies you. Your name, email address and whether you're on a paid plan are shared with them only if you turn that on from your account settings, and you can turn it off again at any time. We never send them a notification about your account. If you have sharing turned on and later cancel, your entry simply stops showing as paid — they are not told when or why.
7. Retention and deletion
Account data is kept while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account by contacting support@plotfact.com; we will delete your account data within 30 days.
